Below are some frequently asked questions about our apartment properties. If you have further questions, please contact the site manager of the specific property you have questions about.

Q: What’s Rental Assistance?

A:  Rental Assistance is provided at most of our properties. The rental assistance program is designed for income based tenants to be able to live in an apartment even if they can’t afford the full amount of rent. The government uses these funds to keep the rent a tenant pays at or below 30% of the tenants income. For example, if rent costs $500/month and 30% of the tenants gross annual income is $200/month then the funds come in and pay the remaining $300/month for the tenant. Rental assistance is provided to those who need it as a hand up, not a hand out. The tenant will have to go through a verification process to prove the assistance is needed and that will be calculated on the amount of money the tenants household makes yearly. SAI has been providing safe affordable housing since 1983, we believe there will always be a need  for safe and affordable housing and we plan on continuing to provide this as long as we can.

Q: How do I know if I qualify for rental assistance?

A: There are multiple factors that play into where, when, and who qualifies for rental assistance, the easiest way to determine your eligibility is to fill out a lease application  with the site manager of the apartment project in which you are interested and the site manager will let you know if rental assistance is available to you.
